Discipleship

The purpose of the Discipleship Ministry Team shall be to build the faith of fellow believers by helping them develop an intimate relationship with the Lord that result in life transformation.  This ministry shall be responsible for providing Christian education to all believers at all levels of development. This ministry shall be responsible for carrying out the principles that provide a foundation for living the life of a Christian steward. The team shall be responsible for the annual stewardship drive and other congregational efforts which lead to informed and grateful giving.


Fellowship

The purpose of the Fellowship Ministry Team shall be to provide opportunities to connect people in the congregation together for Christ-centered relationships and community building through large and small group gatherings and events for all ages and stages of life.


Outreach

The purpose of the Outreach Ministry Team shall be to provide leadership and resources to inspire and equip the members of the congregation to invite and welcome people into the congregational family. The team shall make a special effort to reach those who are spiritually indifferent and who have not yet been won to Christ by sharing the Gospel and encouraging growth in the Christian faith.


Missions

The purpose of the Missions Ministry Team shall be to fulfill Jesus’ commandment to “love your neighbor as yourself.” The team shall reach out in love and compassion to the poor and disenfranchised in our community and the world, by…practicing “radical” hospitality to the hurting, hungry and homeless in our midst and providing for their needs…providing financial aid to help fight hunger and other diseases…advocating for peace and justice in the world.


Worship

The purpose of the Worship Ministry Team shall be to create a worship environment where all are welcomed into the transforming presence of God; to discover, develop, and nurture the artistic gifts of God’s people; and to effectively use God’s gifts to communicate the message of Jesus Christ to our community and world. The team shall identify, train, and equip persons with artistic gifts to be used to communicate Christ’s message in the public worship setting. The team shall build, enhance, and grow all worship options to their full potential and create new worship options for specific demographic groups within the congregation and community.


Building

This committee shall see to the proper maintenance and protection of all property of the congregation and shall take care that the same is kept in good repair.


Finance

This committee, of which the treasurer shall be a member ex officio, shall prepare a draft budget for the succeeding years including the congregation’s full- indicated share in support of the wider church (the Alaska Synod and ELCA), and shall submit such draft budget to the congregation council for its action and later presentation to a congregational meeting. The committee shall exercise oversight of all financial affairs of the congregation to make sure that they are being conducted efficiently, giving particular attention to the prompt payment of all obligations and to the regular forwarding of benevolence monies. The committee shall, subject to approval of the congregation council, be responsible for the congregation’s investments, and its total insurance program. It shall also provide for annual audits of the accounts of the treasurer and the financial secretary, as well as of the accounts of any other organizations and/or schools within this congregation.
